As I'm sure you know by now, one of our sisters, Laura Davis Doubera ('99), has been diagnosed with Stage 4 rectal cancer that has spread to her liver. What you may not know is that her Kappa Delta sisters, other sororities and fraternities (Delta Zeta, Zeta Tau Alpha, Sigma Phi Epsilon), Longwood alumni, and friends of Longwood alumni are getting involved to help Laura and her family deal with the costs related to her very aggressive treatment.
Kathleen Manning Holroyd is spearheading a Cookbook fundraiser to raise money. Here is how you can help...
1. If you have a recipe that you would like to share for publication in the cookbook, please email it ASAP to kcholroyd@gmail.com. She is planning to get the book to the publisher by the 3rd week in March, so she really needs the recipes soon!!
2. If you would like to purchase 1 OR MORE cookbooks, send a check for $15 per book to Kathleen Holroyd, 9226 Cascade Falls Drive, Bristow, VA 20136 by Wednesday, March 7th. Be sure you include the name and address of the recipient of the cookbooks!
3. If you have ANY QUESTIONS please contact Kathleen via email.
All proceeds from the sale of the cookbooks will go directly to Laura and her family.
Not only has Kathleen started this fundraiser, but others have donated sky miles, hotel points, and even a place to stay in New York while there for treatments. This sorority is GREAT! True sisters!! AOT everyone!
